Gujarat Indigo is an erect undershrub with long
silvery to gray axis. Leaflets are elliptic-obovate or nearly circular.
Red flowers are borne in leaf-axil racemes. Fruit are pods,
oblong-elliptic, nearly hairless at length and greenish brown to black
in color. The seeds are kidney-shaped shining. Gujarat Indigo is found
in West India.
Medicinal uses: Gujarat Indigo is mediciinally
significant, contains saponin in leavess and alkaloid content both in
stem and root bark.
